Tackling TB among hard-to reach groups in London
Treatment and support
Many hard to reach clients who get TB have multiple and complex needs, and physical as well as mental health problems. Helping clients to address these issues in a co-ordinated way is important for all involved services, and an essential part of the work of Find & Treat.
In TB, treatment can be given for people to take themselves, or supervised as ‘directly observed therapy’ (DOT).
DOT was developed by the World Health Organization as one of the 5 key parts of the Stop TB Strategy to tackle TB globally. For more information on Stop TB Strategy click here: www.who.int/tb/strategy/en/index.html
